Did you know? Whitby is a small English fishing town on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors. It was in this seemingly modest town that a young Captain Cook first learned seamanship and writer Bram Stroker set part of his iconic novel Dracula. Incidentally the ship commanded by Captain Cook on his voyage of discovery to Australia and New Zealand, HMS Endevour,  was also built in Whitby in 1764.
